Bosa Sardinia is the biggest town of the Planargia region, a picturesque town that lies on the right bank of the river Temo, a few miles from its mouth and not far from the sea. The river Temo, the soul of Bosa, since the most ancient times has been an important resource and at the same time a threat. It is the only partially navigable river in Sardinia.
Bosa, whose origins date back to the Phoenicians, is dominated by the castle of Malaspina, surrounded by the houses of the medieval village that descend from there to the River’s bank. Of the castle, built in 1112, still remain the towers and the walls, while inside there is still the Church of Nostra signora di Regnos Altos, dating back to ’300.
Characteristic and charming buildings of Sas Conzas – the former tannery, or warehouse once used for tanning and leather processing, built in the eighteenth century and now a national monument – that reflect their image in the calm waters of the river, and the Sa Coast neighborhood, the old medieval center that develops around the hill of Serravalle, characterized by a tangle of alleys, arcades, open spaces and stairs. There, being one of the largest old towns of Sardinia, you can still admire the old women as they work the famous ‘filet’ Bosa with the loom.
The most important street of the city is Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the so-called living room of Bosa, in the past called Sa Piatta to indicate indeed the main street. On each side of the road stand the oldest buildings in Bosa, where the noble families used to live in the past.
Worthy of a visit is the majestic Cattedrale di Bosa, renovated in the late Piedmontese Baroque-style.of the nineteenth century.
Moving towards the sea you get to Bosa Marina, a seaside hamlet with a large beach dominated by the Torre Aragonese dall’Isola Rossa, an example of military architecture of the sixteenth century.
Both the hamlet of Bosa Marina and the main town offer a wide choice of accommodation, including many hotels in bosa sardinia.
You’ll have the chance of choosing one of the many 3 star hotels in Bosa, such as the Hotel Sa Pischedda in the old town of Bosa, or more specifically, an Albergo diffuso Bosa La Corte Fiorita, a charming hotel in the old town with its rooms and apartments placed all over the town, or a wellness hotel in bosa sardinia, such as the Royal Hotel, an exclusive hotel situated at the entrance of the town and characterized by an elegant Louis XVI style furniture.

A Sardinian or Catalan town? To tell the truth Alghero is Sardinian-Catalan: in Sardinia, it is a unique reality since it jealously preserved a dual soul. It is certainly Sardinian since it was founded in the island’s wild western coast and several peoples settled here right from the Neolithic. The hypogeic necropolis of Santu Pedru and Anghelu Ruju together with the Nuraghic villages of Palmavera and Sant’Imbenia are just a few examples that testify this ancient origins. But at the same time, Alghero is also Catalan and that is evident in the architecture and town planning, in the language and culture, tradition and cuisine.
Alghero has a very suggestive location, since it elegantly lies on the Mediterranean sea and in a very interesting naturalistic context thanks to Porto Conte nature reserve and Capo Caccia-Isola Piana marine reserve. According to the tradition, ts origins date back to the beginning of the 12th century, when it was founded by a noble Genoese family, the Doria, that built some thick and strong walls around it. Alghero was then conquered by the Catalan-Aragonese (around the 14th century), who reinforced the fortification. The historic centre is still intact with its Towers, bastions, small houses built with buff, luxury palaces, precious churches, Portal del Mar (one of the historic entries to the town).
The town is very welcoming with those who chose to spend their holidays in Alghero Sardinia. It proposes a varied tourist offer from the wonderful beaches to the artistic and cultural resources, from the numerous sports (in the sea or on the land), to the walks through the shopping streets, to the great night amusement. And all that goes with a great attention to the visitors’ satisfaction. There is a very varied accommodation choice to welcome the numerous tourists with different ages and nationalities.
Hotels in Alghero Sardinia, located between the historic centre and the coast, are very high quality and one can choose according to his taste and needs. If you prefer a facility immersed in the nature and close to the sea you can choose between Hotel Punta Negra, Hotel Portoconte or Hotel El Faro. If you want to breathe the typical atmosphere of the historic centre you can stay at Hotel La Margherita and Hotel Catalunya. A good solution between the sea and the centre is the wonderful Hotel Villa Las Tronas, that once was the residence of the royal family during their holidays in Sardinia and which is today an extraordinary building located on a private promontory and designed for the wellbeing of its guests.

The city of Quartu Sant’Elena offers some different accomodations to spend unforgettable holidays in Sardinia, but the best choice to ally relax, sun and gastronomy is to choose one of the luxury hotels in Quartu Sant’Elena.
Indeed, Quartu is not only famous for its work of bread, that you can note with the “Pani cun s’ou”, or the “Pani de is sposus”, but also for the presence of vineyards in the surroundings of the city.

Winemaking is a tradition in Quartu Sant’Elena and some winegrowers keep on directly selling their wine from their cellars, talking lovingly about their vines and their rich soil.
Those traditional cellars, where you will be able to learn how is done the grape harvest or the different pruning techniques, are indicated by a fresh palm leaf.
The local vines are called Cannonau, Nuragus or Moscato, but all have a different flavour, which sets well with the local gastronomy offered in your 4-star hotel Quartu Sant’Elena, suchas the complex Hotel Setar-Grand Hotel 4 Torri.

Quartu Sant’Elena also accounts of two important winery : the Cantina Sociale di Quartu, created in 1926, and the Villa di Quartu, founded in 1994 by a group of daughters of ancient winegrowers. Both produce red and white wines.
The Cantina Villa di Quartu produces some white wines, suchas the Cepola Bianco, the Cherem and the Poetto, a sardinian vermouth.
As red wines and Cannonau, the Cantina produces the Parillias (cannonau di Sardegna), as well as the Barriqued Red IGT Isola dei Nuraghi.
To finish, they also offer the Gutta’e Axina line, much more sweet, with sorts of Moscato di Cagliari or Nasco di Cagliari, to taste with some local sweets.
The Cantina Sociale di Quartu has a line composed by red wines suchas Tuerra, rosé wines suchas Arjola, sweet wines as the Pascas (Moscato di Cagliari) and white wines as Arenas ( Sardinian Vermouth).

So, Monsieur, if you are an enthousiast of discovering new wines, please take into account of sleeping in the Sighientu Life hotel & Spa, a wellness hotel in Quartu Sant’Elena, where Madame can follow a wellness programme, and let you discover the treasure of local gastronomy and wines!

Budoni Sardinia is a small village of the Baronia, a mountainous region in the north eastern Sardinia, bathed by a cristal clear sea. The town center (which includes several hamlets) is located on the coastal stretch near small creeks, cliffs and beautiful fine sandy beaches. These are the beaches of Agrustos and Cala Budoni, surrounded by dunes and a small pond full of birdlife, Cala Ottiolu with small dunes covered with low vegetation and a large marina, and Li Cucutti, bordered by green and lush pine wood, ideal shelter in times of great heat, and Mata e’ Peru, which is also enriched by a shady pine forest, Portu Ainu, with pale rather large greyish sand, and Sant Anna, where the landscape is again characterized by the presence of a pond.

The town has a markedly aspect related to the agro-pastoral culture, although over the years it has changed its expectations, mainly due to the development of tourism. The type of house, common in much of the municipality, owes its origin to the admixture of the architectural elements “stazzi” Galluresi with those of typical Sardinian house of the shepherds of the inner par of the island.

Today Budoni has become an important tourist center, known not only in Sardinia, but also in rest of Italy and in Europe. Besides the beautiful landscapes, where green hills melt with the intense blue of the sea and the whiteness of the beaches and to the festivals and events that take place there, there’s an outstanding organization accommodation of high quality with reception facilities undergoing continuous improvement and there are leisure and entertainment facilities (such as the club Pata Pata, one of the largest of the island).

Numerous houses and residences for rent, suitable for those who can’t do without the comforts of their homes. For those who want a holiday based on rest and detachment from the routine, there are some excellent Budoni Sardinia hotels, situated in the best places along the coast. The Apparthotel Club Marina del Porto inside the town of Porto Porto Ottiolu, near the marina. Or again the Hotel Cala Fiorita, in the Marina di Agrustos locality, and the Agrustos Village, surrounded by thick Mediterranean vegetation in front of a large and long sandy beach.

An amazing location. Budoni’s area is well connected to the “boot” because it is only 30 km away from Olbia port and airport.

One of the seven Royal cities of Sardinia, now recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is Castelsardo, a coastal town of great charm, located on a volcanic promontory overlooking the Gulf of Asinara. It is situated exactly on the northwestern coast of Sardinia, in the territory of Anglona region, in the province of Sassari, near the Port of Porto Torres and Alghero airport.

What strikes of Castelsardo is its location and its look. The landscape around the village is characterized by an impressive rocky coastline, fringed by wild and untouched vegetation and where from time to time one can find beaches and coves. The old town still preserves the original look, distinguished from the walls surrounding it. The lower part, the most recent one, called “Pianedda” is connected to the upper part through an old road that climbs up the steep cliff.

In the old town walking is a must. Coming in you find yourself surrounded by a beautiful setting featuring narrow streets and steep stairways, several churches and monuments of great historical interest, such as the Palazzo Episcopale. Bellavista Castle (built by the Doria), which houses a museum devoted to the wattle activity, dominates the panorama from the highest point and the Cathedral of Sant’Antonio Abbate overlooks the sea with its bell tower covered with Majolica tiles. From the terraces one can enjoy a magical view on the Golfo dell’Asinara and on clear days one can also see the mountains of Corsica.

Castelsardo has a strong craft tradition tied to the making of baskets according to the traditional art of the wittle out of the leaves of wild palms. Along the streets in the old town one can come across so many shops selling local products. As per the food tradition in Castelsardo your can stuff yourself with fish and lobsters in particular.

Since the holidays in sardinia are primarily synonymous of amazing sea, it should be remarked that in the town of Castelsardo there are several sandy beaches such as Baia Ostina, Cala La Vignaccia, Cantareddi, Lu Bagnu, Marina di Castelsardo, Pedraladda, Punta La Capra e Punta Li Paddimi all characterized by a beautiful sea where one can go sailing and windsurfing.

At the foot of the medieval village there’s the port of Frigianu, the marina, where you can admire the tower having the same name. Near Castelsardo there’s a unique natural zoomorphic sculpture, just like many others that can be seen in northern Sardinia, sculpted by the wind and the sea: the Elephant Rock. At its base in prehistoric times, there were some burial cells. At a short distance you can reach the National Park of Asinara, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled islands of the Mediterranean.

For the Holy Week there is a rich scheduled of event taking place throughout the streets of the old town, on Monday in particular with the procession of the “Lunissanti”.

The accommodation in Castelsardo is of good quality and the choice is remarkable as well. In addition to the holiday houses and residential hotels, there are several upper-middle class castelsardo sardinia hotels, all in front of the magnificent panorama of the Gulf of Asinara. The accommodation are very welcoming and are placed at different distances from the sea. From 10 meters of the Hotel Riviera Castelsardo Sardinia and from 50 meters of Hotel Pedraladda Castelsardo and Hotel Janus Castelsardo, up to 800 m of the Hotel BagaBaga Castelsardo Sardinia.

Luogosanto stands in the middle of the wonderful land called Gallura. It is a small village with a strong religious tradition and offers tourista many interesting elements. For this reason, it is really worth visiting, choosing to stay in a hotel in luogosanto sardinia, among which the numerous Luogosanto Sardinia three-stars hotels, or in a luogosanto sardinia farm house.

Its name is due to the presence of numerous worship buildings: in fact, the village was founded by the Franciscans in the 13th century. Thanks to this strong religious vocation, Pope Onorio III conceded the denomination “Porta Santa” (Saint Gate), a rare privilege, to one of the gates of the Basilica of Nostra Signora di Luogosanto, the most important of the village and built by the Franciscans. According to the tradition, the Madonna appeared to the friars to show them the place where the relics of saints Nicola and Trano were found, so the church was built in the area of this apparition. The tradition also tells that a wooden statue of the Madonna was found on the beach of Arzachena and this statue is still kept in the basilica. The Saint Gate is opened every seven years and for a whole year and it attracts numerous believers.

Luogosanto is found in a unique and enchanting natural environment, that is at the foot of mount Juanni, in a mountain and woody landscape, but it is also very close to the wonderful sea of Gallura. It offers some dream views that extend up to Bocche di Bonifacio and the coast of Corsica.

The architecture of Luogosanto is characterised by the granite, which is also used to pave the streets. This village is harmoniously inserted in the surrounding territory, which is very rich in granitic outcrops.

A charming and elegant location, Porto Cervo is situated on a promontory formed with the Gulf of Arzachena, and it is indeed the heart of the Costa Smeralda, and the first town in order of time. Set up in 1962, it was commissioned by Prince Karim Aga Khan who was fascinated by the beauty of this untouched coastline environment, bought the land, built the first of the hotels in porto cervo sardinia and made massive investments to implement a radical land-use management and trend of tourists flow.

The town stretches along the coast in a deep natural harbour, branched like the antlers of a deer, hence the name, surrounded by the entire bay merged with the urban structure is typical of villages and expands at the foot of small hills surrounding it. The center of Porto Cervo is all narrow alleys, steps and arcades which strengthen the pittoresque atmosphere of the town, a set of windows and balconies, built in the typical style of the costa smeralda. In the city streets, all leading to the famous Piazzetta, there’s a succession of fashion shops from prestigious firms, exclusive beauty centers and the busiest clubs of the Coast. Overlooking the bay, the Piazzetta is connected by a wooden bridge to the Porto Vecchio, built in the 60s and crowded in high season by luxury boats, yachts and sailing ships, docked in the crystal clear waters and surrounded by beautiful villas perfectly placed between the Mediterranean vegetation, offering a fabulous show.

In the eastern part of town there’s the Tourist Port, much more recent. Famous for the excellence and efficiency of service offered by its staff and with a capacity of 700 places, it is the premises of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

Both the ports are part of the establishment of Porto Cervo Marina and there are the biggest and better ports equipments of the Mediterranean sea. What is certain is that very few can equal the beauty of the surrounding landscape. In summer there’s a spectacular parade of luxury boats, yachts and celebrities with even many sport event and parties. Porto Cervo is known around the world because of its social life, the presence of several initiatives in fashion, film and entertainment. There are several exclusive clubs where every year on summer nights the most famous celebrities from the entertainment and fashion from all over the world meet.

The beautiful and famous church of Porto Cervo “Stella Maris”, is considered architectural symbol of the Costa, dominating with a stunning view over Porto Cervo Marina the Yacht Club, shops, boats and sailing yachts either moored or maneuvering. At night the light reflected from the many walkways located on the monumental villas surrounded by the Mediterranean vegetation create a unique charming scenario, plunging the visitor into a magical world. One can access to the Church where usually take place many classical music concerts, by the majestic bronze doors created by the sculptor Luciano Minguzzi. This Church keeps a painting of “Mater Addolorata” by the painter El Greco.

If you choose Porto Cervo for your holidays in Sardinia, there will be many hotels that the “Queen” of the Costa Smeralda can offer: the luxury of the cervo hotel sardinia, which enjoys the privileged position in the Piazzetta of Porto Cervo; the natural beauty of the surroundings of hotel colonna pevero sardinia, which extends over a green area of about 50,000 square km in a gentle slope that slides toward the Gulf of Pevero; refinement and elegance of colonna beach hotel & resort sardinia, which develops in a series of cascading pools on a fleet of arbutus, myrtle and juniper, prestige and exclusivity of hotel luci di la muntagna sardinia one of the most renowned hotels in Porto Cervo, of international fame, situated in panoramic position on the Bay and Marina.

Arbatax is a hamlet of the sea-side town of Tortoli which is situated in the inner part of Ogliastra region characterized by a vast plain stretching towards the sea. It is also the capital of the Ogliastra Province along with Lanusei. This area is characterized by several historical and artistic treasures but also by many natural beauties along its coastline.

The helmet of Arbatax, well-known for its red rocks in the harbor area, is considered a veritable natural monument. It started as a fishermen’s village who migrated from Ponza. It is located at the foot of a headland on which stands the Capo Bellavista lighthouse, a red porphyry cliff from which one can admire the landscape made of rocks of the same color.

Near Arbatax there is Tortoli’s pond, one of Sardinia’s most plentiful fishing grounds also rich in birds.

In summer, in Arbatax begins the famous Red Rocks Blues festival, one of Sardinia’s most important musical events which reached an international importance thanks to the presence of various artists from all over the world.

Arbatax houses one of the most important ports of the island. The first seaway connection between Arbatax and Genoa dates back to the late 60s. This helped Ogliastra to come out of isolation. The area is provided with a tourist airport as well, “Tortoli-Arbatax”, connecting the region with some of the main European cities through charter flights and small Jets.

Nowadays Arbatax is no longer the isolated fishing village of the past. Fishing still plays a central role in its economy, thanks to a fishermen’ association and to the pond as well, even if nowadays tourism is the most dragging activity.

During the summer Arbatax is crowded with thousands of people and the accommodating sector is very rich and well-run.

The offer of holiday homes, residences and Arbatax hotels is widespread.

Among the latter, we can suggest Arbatasar luxury hotel, situated in the center of Arbatax, near the marina, or the posh-wild styled Hotel Club Saraceno, made of rows of bungalows overlooking the bay of San Gemiliano and placed in a large green area that slopes gently towards the sea, or sailor-styled Hotel Poseidonia, a short walk far from the beautiful bay of Porto Frailis, opposite to La Sughereta park and, the architectural valued Corte Bianca Hotel Club, in Cardedu area, conceived as a court of ancient times extremely well-kept and surrounded by a several hectares park stretching up to the beach.
